More Cracks in the Darkness

I know this is going to sound like one of those cheesy email forwards (or something people keep sharing incessantly on facebook even though it has questionable authenticity), but I swear to God this just happened.

I was on my way home from the park in which I go running (I've been running, guys - but that's another post for another day) and I passed the shelter house/gazebo thing, where a bunch of college guys were having a grillout. A pack of them were playing a game of wiffle ball or something. A family riding their bikes was passing by, and they let the little boy take a turn at bat. They kept overthrowing and fumbling and mishandling the ball so that the boy was able to get a home run. They all cheered and clapped for him when he crossed home plate. The kid was so adorable, running like mad, still wearing his bike helmet. I couldn't see his face but I'm sure he had a huge grin on it.

Sometimes, people don't suck.

This made me literally sigh out loud from a place of complete and total happiness/adorability. Totally a thing.

It was so awesome. I couldn't help but smile as I walked by.

These are the sort of scenes that make me cry when I'm walking through the park. Seriously.

woooo!! that is awesome.

Seriously ... why are we not running together? I'm not running for speed or anything anymore. I'm just doing it to do it and I'm stopping and walking when I get tired (and am not opposed to doing it when others get tired). I'm at the point where every run I go on I say "I wish somebody else was running with me." or "I miss running with (danielle, matthew, nate taucher)". I've actually almost posted an ad on craigslist for a running buddy. Seriously. PLEAAAAASE run with me.

Related: there's a guy that runs around my neighborhood that high fives every other runner. It's the greatest thing on days that you don't want to be outside running.

also, if you don't go running with me sometime soon, i'm going to find said park and randomly be like "oh hi, i didn't know you ran here. i run here every day after work!"

yes. i'm a creeper.

AND. I have 2 packs of color dust from the color run that I've been saving for when you break your 32 minutes.

AAAAND. I have been wanting to tie dye my color run (and other white workout) shirts. I was thinking about making a FB event for it and just having ppl bring shirts and we could do it in my garage, but I'm not sure what works for ppl, but you are invited, and I guess it doesn't have to be a big thing if it's something you want to do.

Can you tell that I really miss spending time with you ... ??

And all your bloggy friends are gonna be like "ermergerd what a weirdo."

It took me a minute to register what was happening - like, this was happening, in real life, with actual people, in front of my eyes.
